This is the third course in the H.C.M. series. By this point, the student understands the concept of raag and aalap. The main focus of this course is to be able to sing aalap and taan within the bandish. The student will be given the tools and techniques to create their own aalap and taan as well. The following concepts/topics will be covered:

This is the fourth course in the H.C.M. series. By this point, students have worked on creating new combinations and patterns for aalap and taan within a chhota khyal. The next step is to learn how to present a bada khyal. Students will now learn how to elaborate within a raag in an organized, structurized manner. The following concepts/topics will be covered:

This is the fifth and final course in the H.C.M. series. By this point, students know how to sing a basic bada khyal with aalap and taan within the bandish. All Light Music courses are once a week and can be either 30 minutes or 50-55 minutes. Mini-Music Makers sessions are once a week for 30 minutes only.

Bhajans

This course is for those who are interested in learning devotional music. Come learn a new dhun or namavali to add to your list of prayers! Bhajans relating to Indian festivals and holidays will also be included in this course.

Advanced Level The advanced level of the bhajans course will include many solo-oriented bhajans, therefore being more performance-based rather than interaction-based (lead and repeat). The student should have prior training before registering. Many raag-based bhajans will be taught, so having prior knowledge will help.

Prerequisite: Submit a recording of any song of your choice. The recording must not be longer than 5 minutes.

Joy of Singing

If you like singing as a hobby, this is the perfect course for you! This course will cover basic singing techniques and will cover the different styles of music that India has to offer (folk, bhajan, film music, etc.).

Students will be able to learn short pieces in various genres and understand how to approach them through their singing styles. Not everyone gets joy from the same things, so there is no fixed curriculum - you can choose what you want to learn! The course is customizable and will be personalized as per the interest and requests of the student(s).

Mini Music Makers

This course is for children 3-8 years old, and it is held once a week for 30 minutes.

Introduce your children to music through fun and games. Young students can learn the foundations of music through short and simple songs, rhymes, and musical activities. As this course can be a little more hands-on, parents have the option to participate with their children.
